Doulos Training School

The Doulos Training School (DTS) is a ministry of Doulos Missions International. It is intended to provide teaching and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work (2Ti 3:17).  This is a distance education school, so all training is conducted over the Internet.  It is an international school for adult students in every nation on earth, and is intended for those who already have a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ, who desire to become a disciple that makes disciples.

Requirements
In addition to that requirement, and the academic requirements, students are also required to do practical work throughout the course of their studies in the DTS. That includes maintaining a daily prayer life, daily Bible reading, participation in a discipleship group, known as a Life Transformation Group, evangelism, service for the Lord in some capacity, weekly participation in local worship services (may be a house church, not necessarily an institutional church), giving tithes and offerings, accountability and submission to godly oversight.  Therefore, please pray before you decide to enroll in DTS, and count the cost, since this is a big commitment that should not be made lightly, and we want you to be led by the Holy Spirit. Since you will be required to submit to this process I've just outlined, in order to maintain your enrollment, you will need the Lord's help to endure to the end.

Auditing the Courses
Of course, anyone who wishes to simply audit the courses may do so without enrolling.  All they need to do is click the links and read the articles. That will still be instructive and edifying, but the results will not be the same as experienced by those who enroll.

Tuition
Doulos Missions International (DMI) offers this DTS to those who meet the requirements, and is free of charge to all who attend.  However, if you are able to give offerings of any amount to DMI, it would be greatly appreciated, since this ministry is supported by those who give to it financially from their own means that the Lord has provided. As the Scripture says, "The one who is taught the Word is to share all good things with the one who teaches him." (Gal 6:6).  The Lord will bless you as you give, and your giving will be a part of your discipleship training as well. Since there is no tuition fee, the amount you give will be in proportion to your means.  As Paul wrote: "For if the readiness is present, it is acceptable according to what a person has, not according to what he does not have." (2Co 8:12).  You may use the Donate button in the side bar for any offerings to DMI.

Time Commitment
The DTS course load is geared for working adults, and we understand how busy you can be, so we have made it so that it is not too time consuming for you.  The minimum effort for core tasks that are measurable should be about six to seven hours per week on average. That's about sixty to ninety minutes per day on average. If you are considering enrollment, we recommend reviewing the Curriculum Overview and the Course Load Overview for more information to help you determine whether you are able to afford the time commitment.

Award for Completion
Upon completion of the DTS, an official Certificate of Completion is awarded. More importantly, the righteous receive an eternal reward in heaven for every righteous deed done for the Lord. That includes prayer, worship, Bible reading, giving tithes and offerings, evangelism, and service in the Church. Aside from the fact that students receive a Certificate of Completion, the other earthly advantages for completion of this course of study are that you will be adequate, equipped for every good work in the Lord's service.

Servant
My name is Len Lacroix, and I am the founder of Doulos Missions International. I will be providing these services by the grace of God. I have known Christ since 1986 while serving in the US Army Infantry. You can read my testimony called The Truth Set Me Free! I graduated from Zion Bible Institute (now Northpoint Bible College) in 1992 with a diploma in Bible and Ministry. I also graduated from Regent University's School of Divinity in 1995 with a Master's degree (M.A.) in Missiology (World Missions), and a concentration on Church Planting.  I am married to my wife Jennifer, who also holds an M.A. degree in the same field of study, and together we have had five children, three of which we are still raising.  They range in age from twelve through twenty-two years old. We spent over four years in Eastern Europe as missionaries, making disciples and training others to so do. You can read more about us on our ministry website.

Training Structure
This school is divided into three years with each year having four quarters of training.  Each quarter lasts a total of twelve weeks or three months. Below you will find the links to the curriculum for each quarter:

First Year Second Year Third Year
First Quarter First Quarter First Quarter
Second Quarter Second Quarter Second Quarter
Third Quarter Third Quarter Third Quarter
Fourth Quarter Fourth Quarter Fourth Quarter

The school runs on a schedule, so it's important to enroll in time. There are four opportunities during the year to begin. If you miss the deadline to enroll at the beginning of a quarter, then you will need to wait until the start of another quarter to begin. No matter when you start, you will begin with the first year, first quarter curriculum and proceed with all subsequent quarters in sequence without breaks until you have completed the entire training at the end of three years.

Quarter Beginning Date Ending Date
Quarter A September 1 November 30
Quarter B December 1 February 28
Quarter C March 1 May 31
Quarter D June 1 August 31

Enrollment
We hope you will take time to prayerfully consider whether the Lord would have you to apply for enrollment. As you are considering this wonderful opportunity, please review the School Overview. If you decide this is for you, then please complete the DTS application at this link and return it to Len Lacroix. We will review your application and let you know if you have been accepted. To reach us, please submit a comment below with your email address, and the comment will be not be published, but it will allow us to get in touch with you privately via email in order to receive your completed enrollment application.

First Year - First Quarter

Welcome to Doulos Training School!

The following is a list of courses to be covered in this quarter:

Theology I Foundations I Discipleship I

Videos
If an article features one or more videos, viewing is required for the completion of the course.

Practicum
As your practical work for this school, you need to be a part of a Life Transformation Group (LTG) by either joining an existing one that operates according to the description I have provided in this blog, or starting an LTG of your own that follows the same process I have laid out. This is not meant to replace your regular Church attendance.

Disciplines
Be sure to schedule time each day for prayer, worship, and Bible reading. It is recommended that you read at least twenty-five to thirty chapters of the Bible per week. I also recommend that you read one Psalm and one chapter of Proverbs per day. I suggest reading the chapter in proverbs that corresponds to the day of the month (e.g., Proverbs 1 on the first day of the month, Proverbs 2 on the second day, etc).

Moreover, it is wise to also develop a lifestyle of fasting, whereby this is a part of your life each week in some way. In addition, be sure to faithfully give tithes and offerings to the Lord.

Baptized by Blazing Fire
The article, Baptized by Blazing Fire -- a Korean church's testimony, provides the links to the five-book series by brother Yong Doo Kim, called Baptize by Blazing Fire. In addition to reading the article above about the Korean church, students are required to read all five books by the end of their second year of DTS. The suggested schedule for reading the five books in one year is to read one of the five books every ten weeks. Alternatively one could read ten pages per week. Either approach will allow fifty weeks to read all five, which should be ample time, and will result in the completion of the reading assignment with two weeks to spare.
